2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo: Opportunity for enterprises to link towards sustainable development

Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that after the success of the 11th WTA General Assembly & Hi-tech Fair and the 2018 Global Innovation Forum, the 2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo will continue showing the scale of the woodwork industry of Binh Duong in particular and of Binh Duong in general.

Enhancing scale of local woodwork industry

With a favorable geographical position plus preferential investment policies, Binh Duong has created a flexible and open investment climate. All have helped the local woodwork industry absorb more investors. So far, the whole province has had more than 1,300 woodwork businesses with the annual growth of export turnover at 12%-15%. The industry’s export turnover in the first 8 months of the year was US$2.9billion or more than 50% of the country’s total woodwork export turnover.

Machines being operated to prepare for the expo

After nearly 10 years of development, Binh Duong Furniture Association (BIFA) has created favorable conditions for more than 200 members to work effectively. They have bravely invested in the state-of-the-art machines and equipment from the U.S, Germany, Italia…, aiming to improve labor productivity and product quality at the global market’s demand.

As planned, the 2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo will take place at provincial Convention and Exhibition Center. This will be a chance for province-based woodwork businesses to share experience and expand the linkage with foreign partners. Mr.Liem said that with harmonious coordination between BIFA and relevant sectors, the 2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo is expected to absorb 170 domestic and foreign businesses with 769 booths of over 15,000 square meters…The expo not only creates a chance for woodwork businesses to boost cooperation, but also promotes a linkage network in the industry towards sustainable development…

Also according to him, the expo will be an important event, contributing to promoting the local woodwork industry in 2018 and in the following years. Many seminars on automatic technology, timber from the U.S and Europe will be also organized at the expo, which is expected to lure more than 4,000 visitors.

Businesses need to take full advantage of the opportunity

Over the past time, provincial leaders gave priorities to the local woodwork industry in trade promotion activities at home and abroad. The 2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo is a demonstration for this with the goal of creating advantageous conditions for woodwork businesses to get access to new technologies and legal materials of the world in Vietnam for better development.

Gou Liu Dui, Director of Kim Thuan Cuong One-Member Co.Ltd. in TDM city’s Phu Hoa ward; Jay Reese, Director of Penn-Sylvan Hard Woods.,INC Company and Thuong Nguyen Company in Tan Uyen said that they will bring the state-of-the-art machines, equipment together with new materials to the expo. Also according to them, the expo has a big scale with good preparation.

In terms of opportunities from the 2018 BIFA Wood Vietnam Expo, Dien Quang Hiep, Chairman of BIFA said that members of BIFA should take part in the expo in order to approach modern technologies and machines of the fourth industrial revolution. He also warned that they need to deliberate on sorting out equipment and machines in line with their products for better development…

The expo also features seminars on timber, production management and management capacity. Mr.Hiep also wants that all members of BIFA will participate in the event, aiming to help them enhance their production and management capacity in the current integration trend towards sustainable development.
