Binh Duong province is considered as the top choice of Japanese investors as seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam. Being one of the leading provinces across the country in attracting FDI capital, among 66 countries and territories making foreign direct investment in Binh Duong, Japan is ranked first in terms of number of projects and investment capital.

Japanese FDI projects in Binh Duong mainly focus on some sectors, such as manufacture of electronic components, circuits and electronic chips, automobile assembly, iron and steel, and supporting industries. However, recently, Japanese investors have been pouring strongly their capital into infrastructure development, urban, trade - service industries. Japanese enterprises investing in Binh Duong have well observed the law, operated effectively, applied modern and environmentally friendly technologies and machines; have good relationship with and good care of workers' lives. On the contrary, in the investment process, project implementation, and production activities, Japanese enterprises receive much attention and favorable conditions for development from provincial leaders. Japan is the prioritized market by Binh Duong in investment and trade promotion.

At online seminar on promoting Japanese investment in Binh Duong held on Mar 9, Binh Duong introduced its capabilities, potential, competitive advantages, mechanisms and policies to attract investment into provincial industrial zones and clusters. Thereby connecting and building relationships between provincial government, relevant departments and industries, and Becamex IDC with Japanese investors. The province continues to affirm that Japan is the top-priority market of Binh Duong in investment and trade promotion.

Currently, amidst the pandemic, Vietnam has emerged as a country having effective disease epidemic control, thus has attracted special attention from FDI enterprises, including Japanese investors. It can be said that this is a good opportunity for Japanese investors targeting Vietnam, including Binh Duong. Due to provincial leadership's special interest in investment attraction, along with a forecast of the investment expansion trend from Japanese investors in Vietnam, it is expected that Binh Duong would continue to be an attractive destination for foreign investors, including ones from of the rising-sun country.
