Phu Giao district’s An Binh commune has got involved in the new-style rural construction program with low start. But thanks to the program implemented with quality ensured in line with the local real situation and orientations for socio-economic development, the commune has reaped major achievements.

Success from consensus

Along with the efforts by the local sectors, authorities at all levels and consensus from locals, the commune’s new-style rural construction program has been implemented favorably. As a result, there are now 100% of hamlet-level streets covered by asphalt or concrete, 100% of clean alleys; 100% of households in use of safe power; 100% of preschools, primary schools and secondary schools with material facilities meeting national standards.

Vo Van Loi, Chairman of An Binh communal People’s Committee said that the above results were crystallized from the general strength, solidarity and unity between the will of the Party and heart of the people. This was also the “sweet” fruit, the solid foundation for the commune to further maintain and improve criteria done towards model and advanced new-style rural construction in the coming time.

Lives of people improved

Thanks to the local sound ways in economic development, the material and spiritual lives of people in the commune have been developed constantly. Particularly, the average income of the local people was VND15million per person per year in 2011, VND34million in late 2015 and VND56million in 2019…

Mr.Loi said that production development needs to be considered as a breakthrough phase in order to successfully realize the new-style rural construction program. Hence, the commune over the past time took solutions in a synchronous way, aiming to promote production and enhance the local people’s incomes. The commune encouraged the local people to make the shift of plant and animal structure towards quality raised and prices reduced for better competitiveness. The commune also promoted the establishment of cooperatives, cooperative groups on cultivation and animal husbandry, facilities processing agricultural products in association with agricultural production, processing industry to enhance the local production value. So far, the commune has had 1 agricultural cooperative, 4 cooperative groups and 11 farms on cultivation and animal husbandry. Members of these models have regularly shared experience in production-business, applied sci-tech advancements into production for hi-economic efficiency.

The commune also coordinated with the district’s Agricultural Promotion Station to open 7 training courses on sci-tech transfer in agricultural production; boosted the shift of agricultural economic structure through shifting the local labor structure from agricultural production to non-agricultural fields, giving vocational training and creating jobs…, contributing to improving the local people’s income.

Along with attaching special importance to production development, the commune also focused on mobilizing all resources to upgrade the local infrastructure system over the past time, thereby not only changing the local rural image towards civilization, modernity, but also improving the quality of people’s life while creating a motivation for the local sustainable socio-economic development.
