In the framework of the Horasis Asia meeting 2018, two plenary sessions on investment opportunities in Binh Duong took place yesterday, November 26. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee presided over the two sessions. They absorbed the participation of hundreds of delegates, including leaders of businesses at home and abroad.

Destination for investors

At the two sessions, leaders of provincial People’s Committee emphasized the successes of Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular in FDI attraction. According to provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the province’s total FDI capital since early this year has reached more than VND1.33trillion or 95.64% of the year’s target.

Thomas McClelland, General Director of Deloite Vietnam Company said that Binh Duong has become a special investment attraction pole of Vietnam. Whilst, Mai Tran of M&H Law Company, which is specialized in investment consultancy in Vietnam also said that Binh Duong is one of favorite destinations for foreign investors in Vietnam because of having breakthroughs in administrative reform. But, according to them, the province needs to make more efforts in investment attraction in the coming time.

Constant improvement

Over the past years, Binh Duong continued reforming administrative procedures, improving the local investment climate. Under provincial People’s Committee’s Plan No.96/KH-UBND dated January 10, 2018 on the realization of the Government’s Resolution No.01/NQ-CP to further promote socio-economic growth towards sustainable development, the shift of economic structure towards the growth of industry and services, since early this year, most investment projects in the province have been arranged into industrial parks (Ips), which is been in line with the local orientation for investment attraction at requirements of environmental protection.

At the two sessions, Bui Minh Tri, Head of provincial Industrial Parks (Ips) Management Board said that the province has always tried to make the linkage between domestic and foreign investors. Upon this, province-based  Ips have worked very successfully.

Mr.Liem also emphasized that Binh Duong is interested in infrastructure development, especially traffic infrastructure at domestic and foreign investors’ needs. In addition, the province has gained development in healthcare and education; focused on smart city building; strengthen activities attracting hi-tech projects…
