With the globalization trend and economic integration, the birth of industries’ association is indispensable. The associations of leather and footwear, garment, coffee, rubber…have so far proved their role and function in gathering businesses to create a common strength as well as business opportunities, helping them dominate the domestic market and expand to the foreign market.

Binh Duong’s traditional porcelain & pottery industry has over time made great contributions to the local socio-economic development. But, more than 200 businesses in the industry have not linked each other yet if there is no an association. For separate operation, many businesses had to close their doors and stop all operations or change to other business field…, said Ly Ngoc Minh, General Director of Minh Long I Porcelain Co.Ltd.

The birth of Binh Duong’s Porcelain and Pottery Producers’ Association under provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.530/QD-UBND, therefore, is seen as a fulcrum for the traditional industry’s recovery and evolution in the new context. On the other hand, businesses also need to enjoy more support from the association to remove their difficulties amidst Vietnam’s economy that is on way of recovery after the crisis.

Obviously, the establishment of Binh Duong Porcelain and Pottery Association is neccesary as it will be a place for businesses to share mutual experience and make coherence in preventing fake products, create a common voice to protect customers’ rights and interests…Chairman association Ly Ngoc Minh said: “We will initially focus on gathering businesses to announce and reach unanimity on the association’s action program. For 2010’s tasks, the association will successfully organize the Binh Duong Porcelain and Pottery Festival 2010 to creat a new impetus for the industry”.

Also according to him, the association will be not only a place for businesses to share mutual experience and make investment cooperation at home and abroad, but also a place for them to have self-introduction and dialogues with functional agencies and experts in and out of the country on their concerned issues as well queries that need to be given consultancy or be solved…
