As a locality with fast growth in industrial production, Binh Duong absorbs many investors and tens of thousands of laborers from other localities annually. Over the past 15 years, provincial Social Insurance made improvements to ensure the legislative rights and interests of employees and employers.

Along with the province’s constant growth, provincial Social Insurance saw increase in the number of participants and premium revenue. Particularly, as of late 2009, the number of laborers joining compulsory social insurance was 518,000, 15 time higher than 1995. The province also had 956,000 people participating in health insurance, or 64% of total population. The total premium revenue of social insurance, unemployment insurance and health insurance also reached more than VND2.3trillion, 50 times higher than 1996.

Noticeably, Binh Duong  took 3rd position among other localities nationwide in the number of laborers joining social insurance. This helped provincial Social Insurance become a bright spot of the Vietnam Social Insurance in premium collection work over the past time.

Over the past 15 years, province-based units, namely Duy Hung Footwear Joint Stock Co., Cuu Long Co.Ltd… also had close cooperation with provincial Social Insurance to timely deal with all social insurance policies for laborers, greatly contributing to the good implementation of the local social insurance policies. Apartedly, provincial Social Insurance worked harder on administrative procedure reform….
