Phuoc Hoa Rubber Corporation has planned to build six rural residential areas with 15ha or 40ha each in six communes of Ben Cat, Phu Giao and Tan Uyen districts. In 2008 and 2009, it zoned off 21.1ha for two rural residential areas in Ben Cat district, including one in Lai Uyen Rubber Plantation of 9.5ha with the first phase’s total investment of over VND36bln and another in Tan Hung Rubber Plantation of 12.6ha with the first phase’s total investment of over VND54bln.

The demand for housing for people, especially workers of Phuoc Hoa Rubber Corporation is very great, so the corporation’s policy to build rural residential areas is very necessary
Possibly speaking, Phuoc Hoa Rubber Corporation’s policy to build rural residential areas has been applauded by the local authorities of all levels and sectors. Building these residential areas not only meets the demand for housing for the corporation’s staff and locals, but also contributes to promoting the development process of the above-mentioned localities…This is seen as a new and effective model.
Le Thi Hien, a worker of Vinh Binh Rubber Plantation said: “Over the past time, rubber workers like me have enjoyed a fairly stable life, but we still always want to have stability of housing to keep our mind on work. It is very good if the corporation can build and provide workers with accommodations having reasonable prices as there are still many workers in need of housing”.
At a recent meeting with Phuoc Hoa Rubber Corporation’s directorate, provincial vice-chairman Pham Hoang Ha said that provincial People’s Committee has applauded the corporation’s policy to build rural residential areas. But, this is a new way, so the corporation should have cooperation with the People’s Committees of the districts to quickly carry out these projects. In the process of realizing them, the corporation also needs to pay attention to infrastructure and public works to be able to sufficiently meet the demand of locals.
