Dau Tieng One-Member Rubber Co.Ltd. takes good care of workers’ lives

Over the past five years, Dau Tieng One-Member Rubber Co.Ltd. took good care of the lives of workers via many support programs, said Nguyen Van Minh, president of the company’s trade union.

The program giving loans for workers to build houses and develop homebased business was one of the company’s most substantial programs. Since 2005, the company provided loans for 726 workers to build houses worth more than VND10bln. The “Charity house” program implemented from “the Fund for the Poor” also supported nearly VND300mln for 16 households herein.

Such these apart, the company’s trade union supported 168 mother cows for 115 households. Company workers supported and helped each other in economic development with over 8,000 breeding animals and tens of thousands of nurslings. Female workers herein built a fund of “Women helping each other in economic development”. More than 2,000 female workers also got non-interest rate loans from the fund.

Along with the above support programs, the company spent VND12.7bln on healthcare activities for workers. The company’s health system now has a 190-member staff, regularly providing healthcare services for workers and locals. In 2009 and 2010 alone, the company approved a plan to use VND18.9bln for upgrading its health center at workers and locals’ demand for healthcare.

Mr.Minh added that the company over time spent billions of dong on maintaining its kindergarten system and cultural-sports activities. As of late 2009, the entire company had 7,653 well-off households or 77.30% of total, 2,247 average households or 22,70% of total. There are currently no more poor households under the province’s new poverty line…
