In 2010, provincial Farmers’ Societies at all levels set up 308 saving and loan-giving groups with 5,873 members and total loan disbursed from the local Bank for Social Policies of VND73bln, bringing the province’s total outstanding loans to more than VND218bln.

 Particularly, they provided more than VND27bln in loan for 2,263 poor households to develop homebased business, VND16.3bln in loan for 2,000 households to realize their clean water and environmental hygiene projects and nearly VND18.8bln for 1.149 poor students and pupils to pursue their learning.

 For better results, provincial Farmers’ Society this year will cooperate with the local Bank for Social Policies to organize training courses for the staff of the saving and loan-giving groups; tighten control over the use of loans from the local farmer households…
