As Thailand's political situation is increasing stabilizing, the Center for the Resolution of Emergency Situation (CRES) on Sunday set up five security checkpoints around the Rajprasong Intersection, the Thai News Agency (TNA) reported.
The tight security measures have been maintained in capital Bangkok in a bid to ensure security for the public, the CRES said.
The Rajprasong Intersection in central Bangkok had been occupied by the anti-government protesters since early April, and has been freed from the protesters since May 19 when Red-shirts ended their prolonged rally.
Also, some 16 security checkpoints are set up for the inner parts of Bangkok, while 17 others are set up for both the outer parts and suburb areas, the CRES said.
Soldiers and police are deployed to station on these security checkpoints as squad cars have also been deployed to monitor the situation across the capital, the CRES said.
