Industrial production adaptive to quick recovery

Immediately after Binh Duong switched to the state of "flexibly adapting, safely and effectively controlling the COVID-19 epidemic", industrial production was back to its hush. Many enterprises have accelerated the production of goods and gradually recovered to grow. The flourishing industrial production has created optimistic signals for the province's economy in the new stage.

Back to the hush

Being present in the industrial parks of the province on these days we will clearly see the production rhythm back to its paces. Many businesses are busy completing orders and employees are excited by having jobs and income. Mr. Tran Hai Lam, a worker at Nutifood Nutrition Food Company in My Phuoc 1 Industrial Park of Ben Cat town, said that a few months ago to ensure COVID-19 prevention and control, he and his colleagues had to follow the "3 on the spot" scheme. After the province eased the social distancing, the company switched to operations under the "3 green" model, and he was happy that he could go home and more importantly, the company is recovering strongly, which means that people's income will be significantly improved.

Mr. Sompob Witworrasakul, General Director of Vina Kraft Paper Company in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park, said that the company has more than 400 employees specializing in the production and supply of paper bags. The COVID-19 pandemic appeared and directly affected production and business activities of enterprise. In the face of tremendous difficulties, the support and companionship of the province and departments and branches for businesses is more evident. “When the province controls the epidemic well, it will help businesses recover and stabilize production. Currently, the company has a lot more orders and is ready to operate at 100% of its capacity by calling for a sufficient number of workers to return to work," said Mr. Sompob Witworrasakul.

Entering the fourth quarter of 2021 and after more than a month of returning to the "new normal", the province's socio-economic development has gradually recovered and has made many positive changes. The industrial production sector has prospered, making important contributions to the province's growth goals, especially creating jobs and stable incomes for workers. The province currently has about 4,200 enterprises operating under the model of "3 on the spot", "1 routes, 2 destinations", "3 green", "3 flexible green" with nearly 550,000 employees; in which, about 2,195 enterprises accounting for 90.2% of manufacturing enterprises in the industrial zone with a total of 406,768 employees, accounting for 85% employment, registered and engaged in production activities according to the 3 on-site, 3 green and 3 flexible options. Among industrial clusters, all 83 enterprises are operating under the "3 green" production model with a total number of 17,713 employees.

Towards high growth

This is the goal that many businesses are trying to accomplish in the last month of 2021 as well as 2022. According to Mr. Ly Ngoc Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Minh Long 1 Ceramics Company, to strive to increase sales and growth targets, Minh Long 1 has promoted technology transfer, digital transformation, business model renewal, product introduction, online sales, and customer care. Along with that, the company promotes international e-commerce and contactless business to seek for export orders.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that with many specific solutions, Binh Duong has focused on removing difficulties for businesses in the area, looking for new export markets and strengthening promotional activities to promote trade, investment and support enterprises to bring products into global supplying chains. Along with that, the Department continues to focus on quickly resolving administrative procedures related to enterprises' operations to support them to make timely use of production and business opportunities.

In fact, facing the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, Binh Duong has actively and flexibly coordinated with industrial enterprises to implement effective disease prevention and control measures; many preferential mechanisms and policies to support businesses to overcome difficult times have become available. Besides, the business community in the province also upholds the spirit of overcoming difficulties and making efforts to adapt to the epidemic. Immediately after the province established the "new normal", businesses quickly reorganized operations and accelerated production while strictly implementing epidemic prevention and control measures.

In 2022, along with actively regaining the growth momentum of industries and fields deeply affected by the epidemic, Binh Duong determines to promote the industry to maintain growth, in which, the index of industrial production (IIP) is expected to increase by 8.9%. To accomplish the set goals, the Department of Industry and Trade is focusing on implementing effective policies and solutions immediately to support industrial enterprises to overcome difficulties, stabilize and restore production; continue to create an open investment and business environment and speed up the reform of administrative procedures; promote solutions to support credit, human resources, science and technology; complete infrastructure of industrial parks, industrial clusters among others.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of Department of Industry and Trade, said that in the context of the COVID-19 epidemic, which is still very complicated and along with the companion of the province, the industrial business community also needs to strengthen the urging and encouragement, supervise employees to strictly implement the safe production plan. In the production process, it is necessary to continue to improve the growth model, improve product quality, create credibility with customers, focus on diversifying the supply chain of production and consumption of products, and flexibly adapt in accordance with the new situation.
