Nguyen Phung Trung, vice director of the local department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs said the unit is completing procedures to pay wages for Hason Ltd.’s workers because the company’s employer ran away.

In 2009, the province had many runaway employers without paying wages for workers. Of these, the employer of Hason Ltd. in Ben Cat district ran away without paying wages for 663 workers. Over 300 workers of the company sent a petition to the district People’s Court. Accordingly, the court distrained the company’s assets and delivered documents No.24 and 97/GTT-TA to summon the company employer to court. Aside from owing wages with a total of VND1.1bil, the company owed many other banks with the sum of VND4bil and so on.

Earlier, the provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with relevant agencies to solve the runaway case. Accordingly, the department disbursed money from budget to pay wages for the company workers.
