Early Jan.27, provincial Department of Industry and Trade forwarded a conference to sum up its activities in 2009 and approve development orientations for 2010.

Despite difficulties, the local industry and trade sector reaped encouraging results last year. Particularly, industrial production value reached VND87,727bln, up 10% compared to 2008; export turnover earned US$6,993bln, up 5.8% compared to 2008; total value of goods and retail sales was VND33,290bln, getting 114.5% compared to the projection; additional 16,414 electricity meters were installed, bringing the ratio of households in use of electricity to 99.04%. The sector’s industrial promotion, industrial development consultancy, trade promotion…also achieved positive results. Especially, the sector’s loan-supporting program to bring Vietnamese goods to countryside and the “Vietnamese people give priority to use Vietnamese goods” campaign achieved high efficiency.

In 2010, provincial Department of Industry and Trade will strive to reach VND104,482bln of industrial production value, US$8,370mln of export turnover; build 13 markets, 4 trade centers…On this occasion, representative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade awarded the emulation banners to provincial Department of Industry and Trade (photo). Many collectives and individuals were also presented the certificates of merit from leaders at all levels.
