Local market is in attraction

Owing to the global economic recession, some local export businesses faced many difficulties. However, thanks to attention to local market, businesses enjoy a solid foundation from the market to raise competition in the export market.

 

Ceramic products for export made by local businesses are loved by local customers.

Potentials

Dai Hong Phat Ltd director Nguyen Thi Hong Van, said the company’s porcelain products are mainly exported to the EU, US but the unit still highly values local market. Van added that the company joined in a furniture and handicraft expo at the HCMC and lured many local customers with its products.

Meanwhile, Tran Viet Trong, general director of Viet Hung Company in Ben Cat district told that many businesses focused on export in the previous years whilst foreign companies’ products penetrated into local market and reached a potential quantity of local customers. This showed that local market’s consumption level was very good. Therefore, since its inception in 2004, Viet Hung Company has focused on local market through its investment in 3 furniture supermarkets at Thuan An, Thu Dau Mot towns and Ben Cat district.

In Minh Long I Ltd., since 1996 the company’s 65% products are for the local market whilst TFF’s domestic turnover reaches about VND600bil per year. To meet the rising demand of local customers, local businesses have built local supermarkets across provinces and cities to bring for them the international standard products.

TFF general director said ‘In the strategy of local market development, TTF has focused on building distribution system in the coming years. TFF will keep increasing the number of agents up to 20 units across key provinces and cities.
