Many FDI projects put into operation at year-end

Since early this year, province-based enterprises have quickly implemented a lot of investment projects to be able to oppotunely catch opportunities to increase their advantages in production and business. As a result, a series of FDI projects in production and services have been put into operation in the province by the end of the year.

In November alone, nearly 10 FDI projects were inaugurated and put into operation in Binh Duong with total investment capital of more than VND170mln.

Particularly, the Aeon Binh Duong Canary shopping center invested by Japan’s Aeon Group with total investment capital of US$95mln was opened on November 1. Many FDI projects in the domain of industrial manufacture, including the US$47.6mln carton paper factory of Tomoku Vietnam Co.Ltd. under Japan’s Tomoku Group, the US$3.7mln factory specializing in mechanical processing and tin coatings invested by Keiden Vietnam Co.Ltd. under Japan’s Keiden Group; the US$2mln instant coffee factory of Massimo Zanetti Beverage Vietnam Co.Ltd. under Italia’s Massimo Zanetti Beverage Group…

Among province-based FDI projects put into operation at year-end, many were granted investment licenses by provincial People’s Committee in Q2 2014. The US$10mln steel factory of Daiyu Steel Vietnam Co.Ltd. at Di An town-based Tan Dong Hiep Industrial Park was a typical example for this. According to Hiroyuki Inoue, General Director of Daiyu Steel Vietnam Co.Ltd., Vietnam has reached good results in economic growth with a strong urbanization process. Hence, putting the company’s factory into operation at the opportune moment was seen as a proper selection.

In December, additional FDI projects, comprising of the Sora Garden 1 project, will go on stream in the province. This is the first project of the US$1.2 billion-Tokyu Binh Duong Garden City invested by the joint venture Becamex Tokyu. It is seen as a start for many other projects, contributing to building up a modern and civilized center of Binh Duong city in the future while creating a highlight, contributing to absorbing more investors, especially those from Japan.

Nam Phuong Co.Ltd., a joint venture between Hongkong’s Haputex Development Corporation and Viet Huong Development and Investment Joint Stock Company is hastening construction of the US$120mln fabric factory at Ben Cat town-based Viet Huong 2 Industrial Park. According to Marcus IP, General Director of Nam Phuong Co.Ltd., his company has decided to rapidly disburse investment capital to be able to put its factory into operation in the next year to get the best opportunities in competitiveness.

Especially, the above-mentioned FDI projects are large-scale ones in line with the province’s development orientation. Most of them focus on infrastructure development for trade-service, auxiliary or hi-tech industries with great competitiveness, few laborers…

Speaking at the recent inaugural ceremonies of province-based factories, Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee spoke highly of the efforts by FDI enterprises and said that their projects were very in tune with the province’s orientation calling for investment, paving way for the local economic development and creating a motivation for the locality to absorb more investors.
