Myanmar’s President U Thein Sein.
At a meeting with the Myanmar President, UK Prime Minister David Cameron said there are many areas for Britain and Myanmar to cooperate together, such as trade-investment, aid and development and also military links.
The PM spoke highly of Myanmar’s achievements through its reforms, while urging the Myanmar leader to do more to put an end to the ethnic clashes in the country.
After the UK, France will be the next stop in the Myanmar President’s Europe tour.
Since U Thein Sein took the presidency and carried out the national reforms two years ago, the Myanmar-European Union relationship has improved obviously. Myanmar, with a market of about 60 million potential consumers, is emerging as an attractive destination for foreign investors.
