At the end of Tet holiday, gold trading floor is still closed. Before that, analysts expected that cash flow on gold trading floor is on transition to stock market. However, with VN-Index at the 500 point line, the cash flow after gold trading is still without clear destination.

What are in investors’ minds?

“Gold trading is attractive to me. I have been changed to gold investment for so long, therefore, I can only afford partial of my investment back to already unsteady stock market,” said investor Nguyen Tuan about his confusion of the market.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Nguyen Lan Phuong – another gold investor – is determined to follow the gold trading on floor and will change to material gold once the floor is closed. “I realized that this trading channel is suitable for my knowledge. In 2006-07, I joined the stock market with a relative huge investment but the market kept fluctuating and I changed my mind,” said Mrs. Nguyen Lan Phuong.

Another investor expressed his viewpoint that he invested equal amounts to gold trading and stock.

“I have never joined the stock market but it is my secondary investment to gold trading floor. Therefore, I am not worried about closing of gold trading floor because there are many other kinds to invest,” said an investor in Ho Chi Minh City.

Because banks have tightened up loans for real estates, investors are not interested in real estate market. Besides, investments to real estates are too high without promising profits.

Vietnam Gold Exchange (VGB) is established by share holders from big banks and jewelry company across the nation. Therefore, VGB committed to develop its business in a modern way to reduce risks to investors as well as to suit itself to gold business in the market.

VGB has also predicted that its investment group could hardly change its mind to invest to stock market. Meanwhile, VGB also commented on how the stock market has lost its investors to the gold trading market.
