Despite the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, North Tan Uyen district still maintained stable economic growth, well realized policies on social welfare and ensured the local security and order. The district’s People’s Committee focused on directing the implementation and completion of all 13 targets of the Resolution of the local People’s Council.

Effort in all fields

In 2020, North Tan Uyen district drastically took support policies for the local economic development. The district paid more attention to monitoring over the situation of pestilent insect in crop plants and domestic animals for support timely; focused on fostering cattle and poultry herds in association with prevention of diseases. In addition, the district strengthened inspection tours at agricultural materials-trading facilities, seriously handled wrong cases; carried out solutions to popularize and expand consumption markets for the local citrus fruit-tree products; actively coordinated with relevant agencies to soon fulfill procedures recognizing it as a new-style rural district; effectively realize plans on the implementation of the set of criteria on new-style rural communes, model new-style rural residential areas and “One commune, One product” program…

The district concentrated on absorbing investment projects for industrial compounds, parks with infrastructure facilities perfected; gave priority to hi-tech and environmentally friendly industries; promoted support services for agricultural- industrial development, and services on tourism, finance-credit, banking, transportation…; braced up socialization in investment of markets, supermarkets, plazas, convenient stores to serve the local people’s demand; seriously handed infringements on the production, transportation and trading of fake, poor-quality products, especially on great holidays and Tet; coordinated with relevant units to well realize programs stabilizing prices, bringing Vietnamese goods to the countryside.

Efficiency improved

In 2020, the district effectively carried out the duel tasks of Covid-19 prevention and economic development. The district’s agricultural production value was estimated at VND2.42trillion, up 4.72% compared to 2019 or 101.26% of the year’s plan. The proportion of agricultural production was 69.53% while animal husbandry occupied 20.47%. So far, the district has had a total of 102 farmsteads on cultivation with 1,464 hectares…

Noticeably, the district implemented 4 cultivation and animal husbandry models applying sci-tech advancements into production in communes of Binh My, Hieu Liem, Tan My, Lac An and Dat Cuoc. The whole district is now home to 60 animal husbandry farms, including 28 ones under the closed and air-conditioned model with vaccination ensured under the set plan.

The district also excelled at new-style rural construction with 3 communes of Dat Cuoc, Lac An, Hieu Liem being considered for recognition as advanced new-style rural ones. Moreover, the district’s People’s Committee made efforts in site clearance to start construction of 2 major works, namely Thu Bien-Dat Cuoc street and North Tan Uyen-Phu Giao-Bau Bang main street…

In 2020, the district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND2.94trillion, up 13.03% compared to 2019 or 102.58% of the year’s plan. The district’s industrial manufacture value was estimated at more than VND4.25trillion, up 11.09% compared to 2019. Of these, the domestic investment sector reached more than VND2.7trillion, up 11.35% while the foreign investment sector was more than VND1.55trillion, up 10.63%. Provincial Department of Planning and Investment also granted 47 business registration certificates to businesses in the district with total investment capital of VND444.2billion. As of now, the district has attracted 587 businesses with total investment capital of more than VND10trillion.

Thai Thanh Binh, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee, Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s People’s Committee will make more efforts in directing the implementation of the set targets for the highest results, greatly contributing to fulfilling the Resolution of the district’s 12^th Party congress and the five –year plan for socio-economic development from 2021 to 2025. All the results done by the district over the past time plus the unanimity, solidarity and creation of the local entire Party, people, army and business community will be the foundation for the district to successfully realize the set targets…
