Early November 30, Binh Duong Provincial Department of Veterinary held a meeting to report its implementation of safe zone against foot-and-mouth diseases of cattle and bovine diarrhoea from 2013 to 2015.
Over VND 17 billion has been invested into the disease prevention in 2 years includig the counterbalancing capital of over VND 10 million for husbandry. For the time, the department has made disease checks on 1.4 pigs and cattle; nearly 7 million doses of foot-and-mouth and bovine diarrhoe vaccination have been dispatched.
Currently, 69 faciltiies of safety from diseases have been established while 45 slaughterhouses have been standardized across 7 districts and towns. Five wards, communes, and townships have been certified as safe zones from diseases by national standards. Binh Duong Province is targeting to immediately construct safe zones for animals and poultries to service the domestic consumption and exportation.
