Overseas Vietnamese help forest fire victims in Russia

The Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and the Community Assignment Board and Overseas Vietnamese Association in Russia granted relief to forest fire victims in Russia on August 18.

The ceremony was held at the headquarters in Kolomna, Moscow.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, Diplomatist Pham Thi Ngoc Bich expressed the deep sympathy of the overseas Vietnamese community with Russian families who have been badly affected by the forest fires and she hoped the injured people would soon recover their health and stabilize their lives.

On behalf of Russia, head of Kolomna administration, Mr Nicolai Ottiasov thanked the timely help of overseas Vietnamese who are working and living in Russia to forest fire victims; expressed his pleasure for the two peoples in the two countries understand each other and added that this help would create greater strength for the people who have been damaged by forest fire.

Mr Ottiasov also reported the unusual weather and climatic situation this year in Russia and announced a plan of the government of Russia and the administration of Moscow to make good the consequences caused by forest fire as well as a plan to rebuild houses for families whose houses were damaged.

The relief fund by the Vietnamese Embassy to forest fire victims includes clothes, footwear for children and women worth almost 800,000 rubles and 85,000 rubles in currency collected by overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese businesses in Russia.
