As an agricultural locality, Phu Giao district has changed vigorously in recent years. Possibly speaking, in 2018, the district further fulfilled targets on socio-economic development. The lives of the local people also continued being improved.

Targets with good results

Thanks to the efforts by the local government, Phu Giao district continued gaining vigorous socio-economic strides in 2018.

The district obtained and surpassed 11 out of 13 set targets. Particularly, the district’s agro-forestry production value was estimated at more than VND3.99trillion. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND5trillion. There were also 99.98% of the local households in use of power.

So far, there have been 100% of the local households in use of clean water. In 2018, the whole district has had 36 out of 37 schools with national standards, up 2 compared to 2017. The rate of poor households under the province’s new poverty line has till now decreased to 0.2%. The district has also created new jobs for 2,267 laborers.

In 2018, the district also completed all procedures recognizing Phuoc Hoa and An Binh communes as new-style rural ones and submitted them to provincial People’s Committee for approval; sufficiently implemented policies on social welfare, paid more attention to improving the spiritual life of people; maintained national defence-security with positive changes; strengthened administrative reform and prevention of corruption…

Stable development

Industrial manufacture was seen as the most highlight in Phu Giao district’s socio-economic picture in 2018.

As planned, the district is home to 5 industrial compounds with 307.84 hectares in total. So far, there have been 2 industrial compounds in Vinh Hoa commune asking for the province to carry out  their adjustment in Tam Lap commune and 1 industrial compound with the investor being Hung Hai Thinh Joint Stock Company.

In 2018, the district’s People’s Committee also well realized State administration in terms of natural resources, environmental protection…; excelled at land statistics, law dissemination, adjustment of the land use plan to 2020 under the plan of provincial People’s Committee. The district also set up a plan on land use for 2019; implemented a plan on protecting the environment in residential areas from animal husbandry…

However, according to Doan Van Dong, Chairman of Phu Giao district’s People’s Committee, in 2018, the district still faced certain obstacles in the realization of the local tasks on socio-economic development. The district’s People’s Committee has also actively taken solutions to further promote the local socio-economic development.
