Early March 9, provincial chairman Nguyen Hoang Son and representatives of the province’s sectors had a meeting with the Taiwanese Affairs Commission.
According to the report released at the meeting, the province has so far absorbed more than 700 businesses from Taiwan with a total investment capital of US$3.5bln. With US$3.5bln, Taiwanese businesses have taken the lead in investment capital among other foreign businesses in the province and have greatly contributed to the province’s socio-economic development.
But, the number of mass labor disputes and strikes at Taiwanese businesses in the province over the past time accounted for 33% or 42% of total. The main reason was that both employees and employers have not obeyed the Labor Law.
Over the past time, the province also made efforts to prevent and deal with mass labor disputes and strikes at businesses in general and those with Taiwan’s investment capital in particular.
