At the working session, Mrs. Carolyn Turk highly appreciated the province’s capacity to manage and use wastewater treatment projects. Currently, the Binh Duong water environment improvement project, which is considered by WB for financial support, includes the following items: Constructing a network to collect domestic wastewater and pumping stations for Tan Uyen town, Thuan An city, Di An city to increase the coverage for about 54,000 households; building a wastewater treatment plant with the phase 1’s capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day for Tan Uyen town, with a route length of about 1,300meters to ensure the capacity of receiving treated wastewater and making drainage of rainwater for the existing basin; upgrading the capacity of Thuan An City and Di An City’s existing wastewater treatment plants with the additional treatment capacity of 20,000cubic meters per day. The total capital funded by the World Bank for the project is nearly US$ 235 million. For the project implemented soon, she suggested the province speed up the approval of the pre-feasibility study report, the Government's feasibility study report to complete necessary procedures.
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Truc said that the province has always paid attention to developing infrastructure facilities, including ones related to environmental protection and water protection, aiming to ensure sustainable development. He spoke highly of the cooperation and assistance of the WB for related projects in the province over the past time while saying that provincial leaders are very interested in the project and have directed relevant units to fulfill tasks to ensure the requirement of the time set by the sides
He also said that he will direct provincial Department of Construction, Wastewater Project Management Board to accompany and accelerate the implementation of the project.
