Provincial leader works with Viettel on digital transformation cooperation

On the afternoon of February 22, Nguyen Loc Ha, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee together with leaders of a number of departments, sectors and Becamex IDC had a meeting with a delegation of military-run telecommunications group (Viettel), led by Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhuong, Deputy General Director of Viettel Post Joint Stock Company about digital transformation, deployment of 5G network, logistics and e-commerce floor in the province.

Currently, Binh Duong ranks 31st among 63 provinces and cities nationwide on the Debt to Income Ratio (DTI), in which digital government, digital economy and digital society rank 28th, 5th and 43rd, respectively. The province's digital transformation goal to 2025, vision to 2030 for digital government, online public services at level 4 are provided in many means. Records at all levels are processed on internet. The province will strive for digital economy accounting for 20-30% of GRDP. The proportion of digital economy in each sector or field reaches at least 10%-20%. There are 99% - 100% of households in communes and wards covered by digital society for broadband and fiber optic cable network infrastructure, cable covers. Also, there are 50%-80% of population with electronic payment account... Viettel's representative proposed a number of key tasks in digital transformation in the coming time, including increasing the ratio of online public services, provincial-level documents and procedures; carrying out information security solutions; ensuring information security for enterprises, e-commerce floor, e-portal, open data, industry and trade database; building production and business management tools for enterprises; building broadband internet, promoting fiber-optic cable broadband subscribers, internet users shopping online; realizing 5G mobile network coverage; deploying anti-virus software solutions for people's computers; digitizing data in the fields of digital society, health, education, population data. The representative said that in 2022, Binh Duong's DTI is likely to rank 20th, up 11 places compared to the current period.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Ha thanked Viettel for its research and analysis results as well as proposals for key solutions in the local process of "digital transformation" while saying that Viettel's investment plans are considered by the province for signing a cooperation agreement. For digital transformation, people are provided with fast, convenient and safe digital services. Whilst, for enterprises, it helps them reduce costs, increase experience for customers and labor productivity, expand new markets. It also helps authorities run more quickly, effectively, and transparently.
