As surveyed, province-based supermarkets, namely Vinatex, Fivimart, Citimart…, have begun seeing a 50% increase in purchasing power. Products for Tet like confectionary, Chinese sausage, canned food, alcohol and decorations has gained the highest purchasing power.
Power purchasing has begun increasing at province-based supermarkets
Aside from increasing the amount of Tet goods, province-based supermarkets have launched a lot of attractive promotion programs for clients to stimulate the demand and contribute to stabilize prices during Tet. It is predicted that purchasing power will continue to sharply increase on the days near Tet.
According to the common assessment, this year’s Tet market has started slowly compared to the previous years. Purchasing power at province-based IPs has seen increase, but has been still lower than the same period last year. The reason for this may come from this year’s Tet salary and bonuses for laborers paid slowly, so they have not yet rushed to go shopping. In the next few days, the number of customers with shopping at Ips will surely increase sharply.
Whilst, the selling and buying atmosphere at province-based markets last weekend was still gloomy. Markets of Bung, Lai Thieu, Thuan Giao, Phu Hoa…with many Tet confectionary, alcohol products…are now displayed for sale, but there are still empty with customers.
According to many small traders, the number of customers going shopping for this year’s Tet is still few. It is hoped that the situation will be improved on the days near Tet…
