Returning to operations after the Covid-19 epidemic, many businesses in the area are short of workers. In order to keep up with year-end orders as well as to stabilize the long-term labor resources, many businesses have increased wages, allowances, and quality of meals for employees to recruit and, at the same time, urgently contact workers who have returned to their hometown to pick them up back to the factories as well as take care of necessities during the days of waiting for wages including the offer of 1 month's accommodation fees.

Many enterprises have posted to call for employment at attractive wages to quantity declining job seekers
High wages to workers
In recent days, when walking through many industrial parks such as Dai Dang, Song Than, and VSIP we have noticed that 70% of businesses post recruitment information with very high salaries at an average of VND 9 - 10 million a month for unskilled workers.
It is interesting that despite the high salary and good incentives, very few people are applying for jobs. For example, Sharp Mind Technology Vietnam Co. Ltd. in Dai Dang Industrial Park has called for recruitment of 100 employees at the salary of over VND 10 million and annual salary promotion and full social insurance and bonuses based on labor productivity; however, for many days they have not found enough people. As for skilled workers, businesses offer extremely high recruitment salaries. As at Excellence Team Co. Ltd. in Dai Dang Industrial Park, experienced workers of sand casting (aluminum, copper casting of fire prevention and fighting equipment components) are being recruited with salary of VND 18 - 20 million a month and VND 10-20 million for workers who operate CNC lathes.
Furniture manufacturing enterprises are also in need of large labor resources from a few hundreds to thousands of workers per enterprise. Timberland Company Limited in Tan Uyen town specializing in the production of sofas for export needs to recruit thousands of unskilled workers. The company posted recruitment information on social networking sites and in notices in crowded areas, the introduction of workers in the company and dispatched employees to "hunt" for labor. However, for every day, they have recruited only a few dozen. Ms. Phan Thi Cam Tu, Deputy General Director of Timberland Co. Ltd. said that before the Covid-19 epidemic, the company had about 8,500 employees. After the epidemic, when it returned to work, only about 4,000 workers returned to work, leading to a shortage of workers while orders at the end of the year were quite abundant.
As for Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the Trade Union of Tan Nhat Wood Company in Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park said that the company had about 1,800 employees. After the epidemic, although it has returned to operation for nearly a month, the company is short of workers and is expected to recruit 300-500 more workers. In addition, the company is connecting with the number of workers in the Mekong Delta provinces who are returning to their hometown during the recent epidemic to bring them back to the factory. If anyone comes back to work, the company will bring a car to pick up with necessities for the new days when they return and wait for their salary. The salary offered by Tan Nhat Wood Company when recruiting new workers plus allowances is about VND 11 million a month. For long-term employees, the total income is much higher at the company.
Enterprises helped to look for workers
According to statistics, businesses in the area currently need nearly 50,000 workers to stabilize production. Mr. Pham Van Tuyen, Deputy Director of Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said that the shortage of workers in enterprises is forecast before a large number of workers returning to their hometown. During the time, in addition, businesses have been actively contacting workers to bring them back to the factory along with the offer to improve income and allowances. Those are redundant workers when businesses encounter difficulties during the epidemic leading to shutdowns; they must quickly connect with those workers to supplement the labor shortage. The Department has also worked with businesses and reviewed the number of workers that are lacking to contact many localities to bring the workers back.
Since the beginning of October as Binh Duong returned to the "new normal", the provincial Employment Service Center has continuously organized online job exchanges. The center also contacts workers from businesses that have stopped production to businesses that have resumed operations. Only in the past 1 month, businesses have contacted the center to recruit about 17,000 job positions; in which, the positions are mainly for unskilled workers concentrated in garment, leather shoes, electronics and furnitures aside the office positions, accountants, and skilled technicians.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phuong, Deputy Director of the provincial Employment Service Center, said that the current local labor resources are very small, so it is necessary to cooperate to bring workers from the provinces to Binh Duong. However, this must be coordinated with the employment service centers of the provinces and cities. The connection channels at the center during the epidemic and currently mainly focus on online channels of Zalo page of Binh Duong Employment Service Center, email, website of vieclambinhduong.vn, Facebook, Fast jobs on the website, job banks at the center, by phone etc. businesses and employees can also find jobs and find people directly on the center's website.
According to Mr. Phuong, in order to attract workers back to work, most businesses have offered policies to support one month's initial rent for workers and local shuttles to the company along with carrying out the quarantine for 14 days during which they still have salary before work. If they are not vaccinated, the company will register for vaccination at the enterprise.
