Cell phone service providers VinaPhone, MobiFone, and Viettel have extended the deadline for registration by prepaid users after they failed to complete the procedures on that day for the huge crowds that thronged their offices.

According to the above cell phone service providers, about 3.5 million cell phone subscribers have yet to register their details. Vinaphone Binh Duong opened 7 registration counters to offer favorable conditions for prepaid user’s registration. An employee of Vinaphone Transaction Center said that the center has so far received only over 200 applications of registration from pre-paid mobile service subscribers. 

Most of pre-paid mobile service subscribers in the province are workers with full-time jobs, so they have no free time to arrive at cell phone service providers’ registration counters.

To offer favorable conditions for prepaid user’s registration, Mobifone cell phone service provider opens 31 registration counters whilst other providers continue to receive applications from subscribers. Mobile phone registration deadline is extended till Jan. 31 by the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information. Besides, all prepaid subscribers have to register their details by Jan 31, 2010, failing which they cannot use their phones any longer.
