Thuan An’s agricultural development in association with environmental protection

Together with natural advantages, Thuan An town’s agricultural sector has still faced hurdles on orchard development, economic efficiency…, so many measures have been put forward to promote the sector’s development in association with tourism.

 

To enhance the efficiency of orchards in association with tourism development in communes and wards along with the Sai Gon river between 2011 and 2015, Thuan An town has implemented plans for the Action Program of town’s Party Committee on infrastructure investment for the new rural region; further make the restructuring of animals and crop plants with hi-economic efficiency; tighten control over diseases in animals and crop plants…, striving to reach VND79.5bln in agricultural production value, up 2% compared to 2011. 

Thanks to receiving support on fertilizer, orchards in Thuan An town have got good development with higher economic efficiency

 

To achieve the above target, Thuan An town has teamed up with functional agencies to make favorable conditions for the development of cooperatives. Especially, the town has devised orientations for the sector’s development, including further implementing the province’s project on improvement of orchards’productivity in association with eco-tourism development; go ahead with sustainable and environmentally friendly development for the local agricultural sector…

 

Do Thanh Tam, chairman of Thuan An town People’s Committee said that the town People’s Committee has approved the town’s land use plans till 2020 and in the 2011 and 2015 period; approved the new rural building project of An Son commune…

 

Reportedly, Thuan An town’s agricultural production value in 2011 was VND78bln, up 12.1% against 2010. Under the program to support the development of orchards with total area of 364 hectares, Thuan An town also provided fertilizer of VND1.5bln for 1,035 households; supported 10% of cost for farmers who have got involved in safe vegetable production with total area of 42 hectares or 104.7% of the projection.
