According to Economic Office of Thuan An City, over the first 6 months of 2021, the city's commercial and service industry generated a total retail sales of goods and services of VND 43,250 billion, up 14.57% over the same period and reached 48.37% of the City's Resolution.
The city has now about 36,200 household businesses operating in trade and service sectors; 5 supermarkets, 7 commercial centers, of which 3 large-scale commercial centers are Aeon, Minh Sang Plaza and Lotte. The city has 22 conventional markets under the planning, of which 2 are Lai Thieu and Bung markets managed by the ward's administration, 1 market managed by cooperatives, 19 markets managed by private enterprises, and 86 convenient stores. The commercial service system has well met the shopping demand of city people.
In the last 6 months of 2021, the Economic Office will continue to advise the City People's Committee to encourage civilized and commercial markets in the area; implement a plan to stabilize the market for books, notebooks and school supplies in the 2021-2022 school year in the area. In addition, the office performs inspection and post-inspection of enterprises and business establishments according to the annual inspection plan of the City People's Committee; continue to monitor and urge People's Committees of communes and wards to clear spontaneous markets encroaching roadways and roadside in the city.
