Crown Holdings, Inc, a leading US manufacturer of metal packaging for food, beverages and household, personal care and industrial products, will build an additional production line at its current base in southern Dong Nai province. 

In an announcement on February 16, the company, headquartered in Philadelphia said its branch in the Asia-Pacific region will manage the new production line in Dong Nai.

The new production line, designed to produce 600 million 33cl aluminum beverage cans a year and will be put into operation by the last quarter of this year.

When it is completed, the US company will have 5 production lines in Vietnam, producing a total 3 billion aluminum cans a year.

Jozef Salaerts, president of Crown Holdings’ branch in the Asia-Pacific region, said this is an excellent production line for the Vietnamese market and these cans can be easily stored, transported and recycled.

He also said that the expansion of production in Vietnam reflects an increasing demand in the drinking can market.
