The province’s agricultural sector has made efforts towards sustainable development, which is also seen as its key task. Noticeably, many emulation movements for the above task, especially the campaign “Studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s exemplary morals” and the emulation movement “Following Uncle Ho’s teaching” over time contributed to helping the local sector reap positive results.
Many effective agricultural models have been discovered from the emulation movements
Between 2006 and 2009, the sector continued to maintain its growth with the annual agriculture, forestry and fishery production value rising by 4.92%; well realized quarantine inspection of animals and their products, disease prevention for crops & animals and crops restructuring. As of late 2009, the total area for growing perennial trees in the province reached 131,387 ha. The province also had the total number of cattle and poultry growing by 14.7% and 19%, respectively, with 43,253 cows, buffaloes, 363,443 pigs and over 2,4mln of fowls.
Noticeably, many local farmers bravely applied a lot of new ways in animal husbandry for better results. The projects and models of aquaculture herein also made much progress with the total area for aquaculture amounting to 517 ha and the total output of fisheries reaching 5,442 tons as of late 2009.
The sector’s development has also contributed to improving the lives of the local people. As of late 2009, there were 93% and 98.73% of the total number of households in the province in use of clean water and electricity; 98.9% of communes getting national standards in terms of health; 100% of communes with stations for broadcasting on radio…The average income for people in the rural area of the province reached VND15.3mln per capita per year; the total number of poor households in the province under the new poverty line reduced to 7,303, or 353% of total…
Upholding its above results, the province’s agricultural sector has set many targets towards sustainable development in the next periods. In the 2010 and 2015 period, the sector will strive to obtain the annual growth by 4%-4.5% in agricultural, forestry and fishery production value and have the structure with 58%, 35% and 7% of cultivation, animal husbandry and services. Its annual value of cultivation and animal husbandry output will also reach 70mln/ha…
