With its determination in realizing duel tasks of Covid-19 prevention and economic development, Bau Bang district in 2020 maintained stability in socio-economic development with fields reaching high growth.

Effectively carrying out targets

In 2020, under the instruction of the local Party Committee, People’s Committee plus solidarity of the entire political system, enterprises and locals, Bau Bang district gained major results in many aspects. The district’s value of industrial manufacture and construction was estimated at more than VND21trillion, up 22% compared to that of 2019. The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was estimated at more than VND5.45trillion, up 24% against that of 2019.

Bau Bang district mobilizes all resources to build up a modern and synchronous infrastructure system in association with urban, service and industrial development

The district’s economic structure continued shifting in the right direction towards industrial manufacture, trade-services and agricultural production. The district bent on industrial development in association with attracting, promoting human resources, protecting ecological environment, paying attention to well solving social issues, ensuring social welfare, improving the material and spiritual lives of people. Noticeably, the district’s total State budget collection was estimated at more than VND1.31trillion or 121.04% of the set plan.

Vo Thanh Giau, Chairman of Bau Bang district’s People’s Committee said that in order to successfully implement the local targets on socio-economic development in 2020, the district set major tasks in each aspect. The district conducted units to focus on taking solutions in managing economy, improving the impacts from Covid-19 pandemic for economic development and recovery; promoting investment, reforming administrative procedures, creating the best conditions for businesses and locals.

Further mobilizing all resources

Bau Bang district is making a breakthrough in mobilizing all resources for socio-economic development, enhancing the local competitive capacity. To absorb more investment projects, the district over the past time continued improving the local investment climate by reforming administrative procedures, preparing “clean” fund…, the district will also further make social infrastructure investment at the local fast urban and industrial development.

In 2020, the district paid more attention to compensation and site clearance, especially for the My Phuoc-Bau Bang main street, the North Tan Uyen-Phu Giao-Bau Bang main street, the expanded Bau Bang industrial park, the Chon Thanh-Ben Cat 220kV line…Many works was completed and put into use, upholding their efficiency.

The district also absorbed 138 newly-registered projects and 20 extra-ones with total registered capital of nearly VND 943billion and US$243.85million. Thus, the district has so far absorbed 1,079 investment projects, comprising of 883 domestic projects with total registered capital of nearly VND30.5trillion and 196 FDI ones with total registered capital of more than US$3.5billion. Thanks to effective policies on investment attraction, the district has lured more FDI projects with great capital.

Possibly seeing, the district reached considerable results in socio-economic development amid the complicated development of Covid-19 pandemic. This is the premise for the district to well realize the local tasks on socio-economic development in 2021 and in the next years.
