At a recent meeting with the Southern Power Corporation, provincial vice-chairman Pham Hoang Ha suggested the power sector to prioritize the allocation of power output for localities where focus on large-scale industrial production like Binh Duong…
Mr Ha said: “As a locality with industrial production as key sector, Binh Duong needs to receive priority in allocation of the power output from the power sector to ensure production. If the lack of power is prolonged, the province’s exports and production will be sluggish, not only affecting the local economic growth, but also contributing to reducing the growth of the national GDP…
With the current allowance, Binh Duong Power Company cannot have enough supply for businesses’ production, said Truong Chi Dung, company director. To him, a power package that is only for industrial production needs to be set up and then it will be allocated to localities, based on their demand for industrial production. Mr.Ha also had the same idea with Mr.Dung about the establishment of the power package for industrial production.
Before Mr.Ha’s suggestion, the Southern Power Corporation will consider to raise the power output for Binh Duong, said corporation General Director Nguyen Thanh Duy. He affirmed that his company will ensure stable supply of power for concentrated industrial parks if they vow to save power by themselves.
To achieve the above target, in addition to the effort of the Southern Power Corporation, Binh Duong Power Company will continue to closely take measures to save power. Mr.Ha also suggested that Binh Duong Power Company needs to prioritize power supply for exporters. Provincial Department of Industry and Trade now has a list of 862 exporters, 91 of whom play an important role in the local economic growth.
But according to Mr.Dung, it is very difficult for his company to prioritize power supply for all clients in the list under the Southern Power Corporation’s current allowance. Binh Duong Power Company, therefore, will consider and give priority to around 166 clients in the list…
