Cement expects price hike in the second quarter

National unit of market management has informed of possible rise of cement price in second quarter of the year when construction demands are at their peak.

However, the rise may not be sharp thanks to enough supplies.

In the first quarter, production and consuming of cement has grown better than in 2009 but input costs has prompted the price to rise for twice (by VND 25,000-41,000 a ton in January and by VND 30,000-50,000 in February). As a result, by the end of 2009, cement price has risen by VND 55,000-91,000 a ton

In March, the price is stable thanks to stable supplies. As announced by Vietnm Cement Company, VAT-factory price ranges VND 897,000-930,000 a ton for PCB30 cement and VND 920,000-1,260,000 a ton for PCB40 cement.
