Binh Duong’s industrial production still sees stable development
Despites difficulties, Binh Duong’s economy in the first four months of the year continued to reap positive results, especially in exports and foreign investment attraction.
In terms of exports, the province reached US$2,153.8mln of total value, up 18.3% compared to the corresponding period of last year. Key export products gained high growth at 65.5%, 15.2%, 14.1%, 41%, 71.2%, 18.9%, 120.7%, 82.6%...of garment, footwear, woodwork, fisheries, cashew nuts, processed food, electricity products, power lines and cables, respectively. Noticeably, the local exports industry has so far created new products with high technology and competitiveness.
Also during the time, the province’s foreign investment attraction continued to be thriving. The province absorbed additional 35 FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$222.2mln and 30 extra-ones with US$116.8mln, bringing the total number of FDI projects herein to 1,936 capitalized at more than US$13bln. Continuing to lure FDI attraction is seen as a good sign as it has greatly contributed to promoting the local development.
To Huynh Van Trai, Director of provincial Department of Planning and Investment, the success in investment attraction is an indispensable result from the province’s incentive policies and well-built infrastructure for investors. The province now has 28 industrial parks licensed with more than 9,000 ha in total, 50% of which are operational.
Provincial chairman Nguyen Hoang Son also said that the province has been taking specific measures towards sustainable development, including calling for great groups’ investment; giving priority to investment projects with high technology and big size; promoting infrastructure development…With these, it is sure that the province’s investment climate will become more attractive, contributing to promoting greater successes in exports and investment attraction.
