In the morning of December 15, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held the Vietnam Export Promotion Forum in 2021 with the theme of "Export promotion contributes to economic recovery and development." Attending at Binh Duong connection point was Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches in the province.
The forum consisted of 2 discussion sessions with the agenda of opportunities and challenges of some export markets in the post-COVID-19 period, National Strategy of the Swiss Federal Bureau of Economic Affairs (SECO) for 2021-2025, orientation of cooperation with partners in the field of trade in Vietnam, and orientation and export promotion solutions contribute to economic recovery and development.

At the forum, Mr. Mai Hung Dung presented a report on "Exportation situation of Binh Duong province in 2021 and proposed difficulties and needs in the trade promotion policy in the online environment in order to promote the exportation of goods.” The Deputy Chairman affirmed that in 2021, despite facing many difficulties and challenges due to the COVID-19 epidemic situation, Binh Duong's index of industrial production (IIP) in 2021 was estimated to increase by 4.5% compared to the previous year of 2020. Export turnover was estimated at USD 31.5 billion (increasing by 13.5%). Import turnover was estimated at USD 24.7 billion (increasing by 14.7%). Trade surplus in 2021 is expected to reach USD 6.8 billion. Gross domestic product (GRDP) of the province has always achieved a fairly high growth rate compared to the average growth rate of the whole nation.
In order to enhance the effectiveness of trade promotion activities, Binh Duong province proposed that ministries and branches issue circulars guiding specific spending levels on Circular of January 15, 2021 amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Circular No. 11/2019/TT-BCT dated July 30, 2019 of the Minister of Industry and Trade on guiding the implementation of trade promotion and foreign trade development under the national program on trade promotion and favorable conditions to support trade promotion activities in the supporting of small and medium enterprises.
