Investment promotion discussion organized by Korea and Southern provinces

In the afternoon of December 14, at Binh Duong provincial Exhibition and Convention Center, an investment promotion seminar between Korean partners and southern provinces and cities in the new situation took place by the Southern Investment Promotion Center in coordination with Binh Duong province.

The conference was attended by Mr. Do Nhat Hoang, Director of Foreign Investment Department under Ministry of Planning and Investment; Mr. Kim Kwan Mook, General Director of Trade Office of the Korean Consulate General (KOTRA) in Ho Chi Minh city, Mr. Kim Won Sik, Chairman of the Association of Korean Trade and Industry in Binh Duong; representatives of leaders of Vinh Long, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, An Giang and Binh Duong provinces and Korean enterprises and investors.

Up to now, Korea is the largest investor in Vietnam with more than 9,159 projects and a total investment capital of USD 72 billion. Mr. Le Phu Hoa, Director of Department of Foreign Affairs, said that currently in the province, Korea has invested into 764 projects with a total capital of more than USD 3.3 billion. In the coming time, Binh Duong hopes that Korean businesses will continue to invest in priority areas of the province such as high-tech industry, high-tech agriculture, green and clean technology, financial services, logistics, and supporting industries to meet the 4th industrial revolution requirements.

At the seminar, representatives of the provinces also answered the concerns and questions that Korean businesses are wishing to find out about cooperation and investment opportunities on issues such as investment incentive policies, land fund, solutions to deal with the Covid-19 epidemic, reformed administrative procedures, training, and attracting labor resources.
