The prices of goods, especially essential ones have become “hotter” in first days of 2010, making a lot of worries for customers. One of the main reason for the price increase is that several businesses have taken advantage of Tet to raise prices by themselves.

To curb the price increase, there needs to be a flexibility in ways to manage policies and macro measures, according to the Ministry of Finance. Initially, functional agencies need to regularly keep a close watch over market prices and make reasonable adjustments. During the process, they also need to regularly monitor the collection of services fees, goods prices to avoid the illegal price increase from businesses and individuals.

The Ministry of Finance also said that appropriate punishments will be imposed on businesses, individuals who deliberately violate regulations for trade.
