“Green enterprises” making efforts to maintain production and business operations

In order to avoid disruption of the production chain as well as to ensure contract performance and reputation for customers, many businesses in the province have been making efforts to maintain production by ensuring the requirements of "3 on the spot" according to regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control. At the same time, many fundamental solutions decisive for the steady economic recovery process have been promoted in Binh Duong.

Production is on-going at Takako Vietnam in VSIP I

Overcoming harsh time

Before the 4th wave of Covid-19 epidemic, Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park I (VSIP I Industrial Park) of Thuan An city is also not outside the affected areas. However, many enterprises in the industrial park such as Esquel Vietnam, Mondelez Kinh Do, Takako Vietnam, and Tran Quang Co. Ltd. have not stopped trying to overcome challenges and difficulties to maintain production and ensure income sources for workers.

At Mondelez Kinh Do, workers are very secure to work because during the epidemic, jobs and incomes will not be affected much. In addition to efforts to maintain production and supplying chain of goods, the company ensures jobs for thousands of workers; the company also invests huge resources to prevent and control Covid-19 epidemic and take care of physical and mental lives of employees. Deploying the "3 on the spot" and "1 route, 2 destinations" options, the company spends a lot of resources on purchasing facilities, renting hotels, renting shuttles, performing regular tests for all employees, and purchasing preventive medical supplies.

Ms. Huynh Trang Thuy, Head of Human Resources and Supplying Chain of Mondelez Vietnam, said: “As a leading company in food production and distribution in the country, Mondelez Kinh Do together with thousands of public employees are still working hard to ensure supply for the market. The safety of production, the physical and mental health of employees is of the utmost importance. We always ensure that employees and the company are strong to overcome the challenges of the epidemic.”

Located in the epidemic center, fortunately Takako Vietnam has so far been quite favorable for the deployment of "3 on the spot". Mr. Majima Toshihiro, General Director of the company, said: “Currently the capacity is from 70-80% of normal. To maintain production activities, the company had to spend a very high cost. Up to now, the company has spent nearly VND 10 billion on PCR testing fees along with additional expenses for employees participating in “3 on the spot” activities and working from home. The company will try to get through this difficult time.”

Comprehensive resolution

Faced with the complicated situation of the current epidemic, the speed of economic recovery depends on and has a close relationship with the implementation progress of the vaccination program, which is a decisively radical solution for steady economic recovery. According to Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI): “Employees in the corporate sector, especially in industrial parks, are one of the priority subjects for vaccination against Covid-19, which can both prevent and fight the epidemic while maintaining livelihoods as well as generating income for the society and contributing to economic growth.

In order for the production chain to not be broken and to ensure both disease prevention and control and production, recently, VSIP Industrial Park Joint Venture has coordinated with the Management Board of provincial Industrial Parks and related units to organize and complete the vaccination in a safe, orderly and timely manner for nearly 40,000 workers working at “3-on-the-spot” production enterprises in VSIP I and II industrial parks. Ms. Dang Thi Kim Chi, Chairwoman of VSIP Trade Union, said that the implementation of vaccination for workers, especially giving priority to vaccination for workers working in "3-on-the-spot" companies will help the them feel secure to stay and work with the enterprise for a long time”.
