Together with the process of smart city construction, Binh Duong is highly appreciated as a locality with activities on innovative startup support in the community. The province has also set up a favorable environment for the development of the local innovative startup ecosystem.

Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province needs to create an advantageous environment to support startup, sci-tech businesses and ones with innovation for development. The main goal of the Binh Duong smart city project or the Binh Duong innovation region project is to promote the socio-economic development of Binh Duong so that it will become a smart and worth-living city, bringing the prosperity to people and creating a more favorable environment for enterprises. The province has implemented decisions supporting enterprises to enhance their competitive capacity, apply advanced management, intellectual property protection systems…for better development.

Mr.Dung affirmed that innovative ecosystem has contributed to bringing a driving force for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. One of priority tasks is to open Fablab, Techlab systems; set up Community Initiatives and Creative Startup Support Center to promote the business community in both quality and quantity with competitive products that are able to be consumed in domestic and foreign markets. In fact, enterprises also reached vigorous development with sci-tech investment, products ‘quality and competitiveness improved over the past time. But, they need to make more efforts with technological innovation as a compulsory requirement for sustainable development.

In the current period, woodwork enterprises face both opportunities for export and challenges from competitiveness and labor pressure. Hence, they need to quickly deal with problems in terms of productivity and quality.
