The city has continued implementing the Action Program No. 08- CTr/TU of the city’s Party Committee on developing high-quality trade and services in association with industrial and urban development towards civilization and modernity in the period of 2016-2022, vision to 2030. Setting up and implementing a plan to realize the Program are to focus on developing high-quality services, meeting the requirements of industrial and urban development towards civilization and modernity in the period of 2021-2025, orientation to the period of 2025-2030 and vision to 2045 under the Resolution of the 11th provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 tenure.

Over the past time, Di An city took advantage of the local potential, promoting internal resources, attracting external forces to create abundant resources for the local urban, trade and service development with focus on promoting hi- quality services in terms of finance - banking, electronics, insurance, transportation, education, healthcare, post and telecommunications, logistics...For industrial manufacture further growing steadily, Di An city has always created all favorable conditions for enterprises to innovate their technologies, improve productivity, products’ quality and competitiveness.

Di An city is the gateway to the province, bordering Ho Chi Minh city and Dong Nai province’s Bien Hoa city. With its favorable position, the city has favorable conditions for socio-economic development, increasing the local ability on circulating goods, developing satellite urban areas, attracting quality human resources, developing modern industries, trade and services. According to Vo Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of the city’s People's Committee, these are important advantages for Di An city to become a vibrant goods transport gateway with surrounding localities and areas. Realizing this goal, over the past time, Di An city coordinated with all-level authorities and sectors in the province to focus on implementing many solutions to develop the local trade and logistics activities at real requirements. Particularly, the city bent on mobilizing total resources to invest in traffic infrastructure, making investment in checkpoints, warehouses and technical equipment to effectively serve control and circulation of goods. The city also had many mechanisms and policies to attract investors to the local trade-logistic services.

Taking advantage of opportunities for development

Currently, Di An city is home to many famous logistics enterprises, namely ICD Tan Cang Song Than Logistics Center under Tan Cang - Song Than ICD Co., Ltd; Di An Logistics Center and Port Cluster  (formerly ICD TBST Tan Van)…In addition, there are many large enterprises operating in logistics such as labeling, collection and distribution of goods,  import and export support... in the local industrial parks. For example, they include  Schenker - Gemadept Logistics Vietnam Co., Ltd., Kerry Integrated Logistics Vietnam Co., Ltd., Tranximex Distribution Center, Nippon Express Joint Venture Company (Vietnam)’s branch... These are reputable enterprises in the market with leading brands in logistics in the country.

Over the past time, many enterprises operating in the field of logistics in ​​​​Di An city well upheld their capacity in the process of business and integration, building an image and brand in the hearts of many domestic and international customers. For example, from a simple domestic customs clearance point, ICD Tan Cang-Song Than has so far become a logistics complex with vision to be in the top 10 professional 3PL logistics providers in Viet Nam. Or, ICD TBS-Tan Van, with the advantage of being located right in the center of the southern economic quadrangle, owns an extremely convenient location for waterway and road traffic, together with a warehouse system with flexible connectivity in the flow of goods circulation of the whole region and expanded to the system of international deep-water ports...

To develop it into a trade and service city, which takes advantage of development opportunities from logistics services, in addition to key traffic projects of the Government and the province such as the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway project, the North-South 3 project, the East-West main road project, etc, Di An city has also mobilized capital to develop inner-city traffic projects, ensuring planning and quality as approved, contributing to guaranteeing the local goals on socio-economic development.

Vo Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of Di An city’s People's Committee said that the city is determined to effectively implement the local Project on economic restructuring during the 2020-2025 urbanization process, with orientation to 2030, ensuring the maintenance of growth and restructuring of economic sectors. Realizing this goal, over the past time, Di An city focused on implementing many solutions to develop trade-service activities, logistics... at practical requirements with focus on mobilizing total resources to invest in the local transport infrastructure system, attaching importance to the development of high-quality trade and services in association with industrial and urban development, improving the quality of human resources, etc. The city also put forward orientations to change the functions of industrial parks into urban areas, creating the premise for the local high-quality trade and service development in the coming years.
