Prices stabilization requires multilateral coordination

Binh Duong province authority has accomplished management of goods supply to prevent product scarcity during the Tet holiday. However, the case gets sticky when goods for supply are uncertain to measure.

Experience learned

Local Department of Industry and Trade appreciated active plan and coordination of agencies in stabilizing prices in the Tet holidays. In the general view, goods were plenty enough to supply to consumers who intensify their buy 3 to 4 times. Fake scarcity was prevented.

In order to enhance retail system to remote areas, enterprises offered the net price for rural regions to stabilize the prices of 6 necessary categories of Vietnamese high quality products across 12 districts and towns of Tan Uyen, Ben Cat, Phu Giao, and Dau Tieng. Enterprises were highly responsible for the prices and the lessons learned in previous years.

Trade centers and supermarkets continue the tasks

Currently goods of necessity across supermarkets have stable prices than free market.

Citimart Binh Duong Branch Director Tran Dat Tien has confirmed that manufacturers have not announced any increase of product prices and supply. Therefore, Citimart continues to ensure supply with reasonable prices for consumers across the nation. Fivimart and Vinatex also join in by stabilizing prices to attract more consumers.

Mr. Tran Dat Tien has forecasted that the prices will be low while the supplies are plenty. Meanwhile, Citimart offers sale promotion in line with direct supply from central company to release stress on storage in Binh Duong branch.

Fivimart Binh Duong Branch Deputy Director Nguyen Thi Xuan has informed of stable prices in this market with some light decline of vegetable prices to promote buying. Fivimart also signed contract with Metro – a rich supplier of promotion-included goods. In each case of price hike, she stressed that Fivimart has to negotiate with suppliers to balance triangle benefits of producers, suppliers, and consumers.
