Coming to Lac An advanced new-style rural commune in North Tan Uyen district, we realize that people's lives have changed and developed. The people here have bravely developed the economy with models on animal husbandry, cultivation, trade and services, contributing to raising their income.
We have just had the opportunity to learn about the ornamental flower growing model of Bui Ha Duy Quang's family living in hamlet 2. Quang's garden at this moment has lots of various flowers like apricot blossom, frangipani, “bong trang” “lộc vừng” (scientifically called as barringtonia acutangula, ixora coccinea) and plenty of orchids. Taking us to a separate orchid garden, he confided: "Playing ornamental flowers and orchids in particular must really like to see their value. My family grows flowers to mainly serve the local people, especially during Tet. Orchids here are grown in small and large pots with the selling price of between VND50,000 and VND 60,000 per pot for common orchids. There are also orchid pots worth several hundred thousands of dong to several millions of dong per pot. The Tet holiday is approaching. My family brings people flower pots at a price that is suitable for people's income", said Quang.

Farmers in Lac An commune mostly produce agriculture on a small scale and household economic development always plays an important role in the local socio-economic development. Along with cultivation models, the commune is now home to 30 livestock households committing to environmental protection, ensuring the minimum distance from housing areas and water sources as prescribed.
Nguyen Thai My, Chairman of Lac An communal People's Committee said: “People in Lac An commune mainly grow rubber trees and grow rice. In recent years, the commune has got involved in growing citrus fruit trees. In order to implement solutions to increase people's income, over the past time, the communal People's Committee cooperated with the local Fatherland Front and mass organizations to mobilize people to learn vocational training, introduce jobs to laborers, jointly organize training courses on sci-tech transfer, loan support, etc. to create conditions for all economic sectors to develop”.
In comparison with the previous period, Lac An commune has developed many new economic models, applying techniques for high economic efficiency. Some prominent models include the application model of organic orange production technology (Organic USA) and the production linkage chain with Dang Khoi Agricultural Products Co., Ltd. of Nam Hang Cooperative; the hydroponic vegetables growing model of Tran Minh Hieu; the netted musky melons growing model of Le Minh Sang; the model of growing king oranges under VietGAP technology from Nguyen Anh Tuan, Nguyen Thanh Nhan and the cooperative group on citrus fruit trees in hamlet 4...
Not far from the communal People's Committee, Lac An market is the center of trade activities at the local people’s main shopping needs. The market was started construction in 2017, with a total area of more than 1,280 square meters, with 106 stalls, 30 kiosks meeting standard as prescribed, with a parking lot of 350 square meters. In addition, there are 15 convenience and grocery stores in the commune, contributing to the local trade and services development.
Effectively promoting economic development conditions, the average income of people in Lac An commune is increased every year. The locality only has 18 multidimensionally poor households, accounting for 0.88% of total population. When the material conditions of the people were improved, there was a return impact for the commune to develop the criteria of the advanced new-style rural rural commune.
