Province’s trade surplus reaches US$6billion

Provincial Statistics Office, on December 29, held a conference to announce the local figures on socio-economic development in 2020.

At the conference, Ngo Van Mit, Head of provincial Statistics Office said that thanks to the efforts by the local authorities at all levels, people from all strata and businesses, the province in 2020 obtained major results in the realization of the duel tasks on socio-economic development and Covid-19 prevention. Particularly, the province’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) surged 6.19% compared to 2019. The province’s index of industrial production (IIP) grew by 8.02%. The province’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services also increased by 12.3%. The province’s export turnover saw the growth of 8.5% while FDI attraction was US$1billion. The province’s total investment capital for social development was more than VND133.56trillion, up 11.6%.

The province also absorbed more than VND70trillion in domestic capital. So far, the province has lured US$35billion in FDI capital with 3,923 projects, ranking third nationwide in FDI attraction (after HCM city and Ha Noi). The province’s trade surplus in 2020 was US$6billion. The province also reached VND61.4trillion in State budget collection, created new jobs for 45,300 laborers. The average income per capita of the local people was VND151million per year…
