Binh Duong People’s Committee has just deployed framework agreement on tobaco control in the province in 4 specific stages.

In the first quarter of 2010, the action plan will be prevention of direct contact with tobaco smoke by cigarette ban in public including cinemas, schools, healthcare centers, working offices, places with high risks of fire and explosion, and public transportation.

The theme work in second quarter of 2010 will be measures reducing tobaco products consumption by control prices, preparing for the third and fourth quarter of 2010 to reduce supply and ban people under 18 to smoke, eliminate, tobaco selling through automatic stands, internet and text message. Besides, tobaco factories will be removed from residential areas as ruled by the state.
