Under the activity of industrial promotion (IP), vocational training and development program has created significant results for enterprises and rural industrial workshops.

Remarkable results

According to the provincial department of Trade and Industry, IP plus practical activities under implementation of the Center for Industrial Promotion and Industrial Development Consultancy have brought efficiency. Specifically, the center in cooperation with Ba Nhat Cooperatives held training class on welding to cater for producing bamboo and rattan articles, in coordination with Tuan Linh Trade-Production-Import-Export Co. forwarded training classes on plastic thread and so on.

Nearly 1,972 people were trained trades of bamboo and rattan articles, carving, sculpture in the period of 2005-2009. The training program have positively assisted and offered favorable conditions for production sustainably.

Assessing the above results, the department said that IP in Binh Duong has gone into stability and development, affirming role and position of IP for businesses. Therefore, many traditional handicraft industries have been maintained and developed whilst new industries are under establishment and expansion, placing jobs and improving incomes for rural laborers.

Significance for enterprises

Talking about IP, Nguyen Hong Anh, director of Binh Duong Garment One-Member Co., said the program has helped apparel enterprises add more skilled workforce and improve income for laborers. His company’s workers have enjoyed an income of VND2.8mil per month from VND2.2mil prior the training program.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Thang, vice director of Tuan Linh Trade-Production-Import&Export Ltd. said that thanks to the program, his company is home to about 300 skilled laborers, creating certain results. Nguyen Thi Cuc, chairwoman of Ba Nhat Cooperatives assessed the program has assisted the cooperatives to offer skills for laborers methodically.

Nguyen Thi Dien, director of the department said IP in the locality has contributed to economic structure shift on industrialization and modernization, especially rural industrialization. The cost assistance for IP helps enterprises develop production firmly.
