The district’s patriotic emulation movement among farmers was concretized into many emulation movements, especially those of good farmers in production and businesses, building rural traffic infrastructure, helping each other escape poverty and develop homebased business…

Farmers in Phu Giao district have become more and
more flexible with many new models, bringing high
economic efficiency
Noticeably, the emulation movement of “good farmers in production and businesses” herein became a driving force for the local farmers to promote their production-business activities. It also contributed to promoting the birth of many new production and business models, bringing high economic efficiency.
Over the past five years, the local Farmers’ Society launched as many as 265 emulation movements with participation of 33,501 farmer households. 23,013 farmer households herein were awarded the title of “good farmer in production and business” or 68% of total households registering for the title. The quality of the emulation movement was also improved with many farmer households having hundreds of millions of dong in capital, creating jobs for tens of laborers and securing annual income of several hundreds of millions of dong and above…
Through the emulation movement, there appeared role-models, namely Luong Van Song in Phuoc Hoa commune, Phung Van Thuc in Tam Lap commune, Tran Van Vinh and Nguyen Danh Anh in Vinh Hoa commune, Pham Quang The in An Binh commune, Mai Xuan Tuong in An Linh commune…
The local Farmers’ Society also made support activities for the local farmers, helping them gain the above results. The society cooperated with relevant agencies to give the local farmers more support on technical know-hows, loans, crops and animal breeding, pesticides, fertilizers…As a result, 1,288 households rose up out of poverty over the past five years.
Reshaping the countryside
Over the past five years, the district’s emulation movement in building rural infrastructure among farmers contributed to reshaping the countryside. The local Farmers’ Society and its affiliates mobilized the local farmers to contribute their land, money, crops…with a total value of approximately VND5bln and 12,814 working days to invest and build 249km of rural roads, dredge 26.2km of canals, install 90 and upgrade 45 classrooms…
