In 2021, Thu Dau Mot city’s industrial production was badly affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Many manufacturing industries in the town declined because enterprises had to partially or completely stop their operations during the local social distancing period for Covid-19 prevention and control. Although some production facilities promptly changed to producing urgent items such as face masks, medical protective equipment, antibacterial hand sanitizers…at market demand. But, in general, the city’s industrial manufactue still faced difficulties. The city’s industrial production value by the end of 2021 was estimated at more than VND46.8trillion or 80.13% of the year’s plan. Of these, the domestic economic sector increased by 0.98% over the same period while the foreign-invested economic sector reached more than VND 35.32 trillion, up 2.50% against the same period.

In order to achieve the goal of industrial production value in 2022 exceeding the plan compared to 2021, the city will continue coordinating with relevant agencies to promptly solve difficult cases during the process of production and business, strengthen propaganda, support industrial promotion in terms of capital, improvement of equipment, technology and machinery to ensure stability in the production process, reduce costs, and enhance product competitiveness.
