Vietnam’s top priority for 2010 is to stabilize macro economy to facilitate businesses’ operation, contributing to the national growth. The next priorities are to have to restructure the national economy and ensure a suitable growth with higher efficiency, said Dr.Le Dang Doanh, chairman of the Central Economic Management Institute. He added:
Vietnam’s economy in 2009 saw a faster recovery than predicted with the whole year’s growth at 5.2%. The figure was the lowest growth in the past ten years, but was only after China, India and Indonesia. The reason for the growth was that Vietnam had an effective agriculture, ensuring food security and contributing nearly UD$16bln to the total export value. Apartedly, the Government took measures to stimulate the national economy, including tax reduction, infrastructure investment, interest rate subsidy program…
Respecting international integration, Vietnam joined the World Trade Organization (WTO) and is a member of WTO. Vietnam has also made the commitments of ASEAN bloc and is aiming at the bloc’s economic community by 2015. Vietnam is a relatively open economy in terms of trade aspect. But, there are still hindrances for change in other aspects.
Vietnam also learnt lessons from the global financial crisis, including working harder on restructuring the national economy; balancing the export market and ensuring to dominate the domestic market; balancing and promoting the development of domestic financial, monetary and banking systems to have better mobilization for domestic potential; improving the quality of training for human resources.
