Binh Duong New City in miniature.

Located at the 4,196ha Binh Duong Urban-Service and Industry Complex, Binh Duong New City project will be started today. This is a key work in the renewal period, meeting aspiration of local authority and people. 

Imposing new city

The 1,000ha Binh Duong New City project is ratified by the Government to become a hub district of central-run Binh Duong City according to planning orientation toward 2020. In details, Binh Duong New City will include main items such as concentrated political-administrative center, conference center, int’l exhibition, hi-tech park, Eastern Int’l University, banking and finance center, working office, hi-class accommodation area to cater for 525,000 people.

The important point of the new city lies in the provincial political-administrative center. As planned, the center consists of the Party agency bloc (7 units), the State management agency bloc (27), provincial agency (1), central agencies (9), grassroot administration agency (14), grassroot business agency (22). At present, the center’s design has been completed by CPG design group of Singapore. This is a breakthrough of local authority in administrative reform process toward a transparent and modern administration, spurring economic and int’l exchanges at the high level.

The new city will be an advanced educational and scientific city and will be a major target with a special significance for the locality and key economic zone’s development through the projects on Eastern Int’l University and Mapletree hi-tech business-production area. The Eastern Int’l University covering on an area of 26ha at the new city will train 24,000 students per year, satisfying the demand on hi-quality human resources for tens of thousands of enterprises operating at the locality and Southern key economic zone.

Also at the new city center, Singapore’s Mapletree Group has launched a US$400mil construction of hi-tech park covering on an area of 75ha.

New breakthrough on action and thinking

Along with industrial development, the province has over the past time invested in urban infrastructure facility for the sake of sustainable economic growth. Binh Duong New City will be a modern industrial city. To create synchrony in management, building and development, the local administration has called on famous architects to design major and key works at the future city.

Besides, large enterprises and groups inside and outside of the country operating in local IPs have been also an element for the locality to become an industrial city. The new city will be gateway of linking int’l trade and service exchange and advanced technology transfer, upholding internal force and luring external force for the sake of modernization and industrialization.

With the aim at building a green, clean, beautiful and environmentally friendly city to serve for over 500,000 residents, the new city has so far completed zoned infrastructure facility, linking to the national traffic network. Subway system will be built to connect with HCMC and neighboring areas to shrink distance between Binh Duong City center and other economic centers, especially HCMC. Particularly, a 75ha water lake has been fulfilled, impressing on visitors. Projects on trade area, eco-villas, schools, hotels, restaurants, supermarkets and so on are under construction.

Work benefits the State and people

Becamex IDC, the investor of the new city project, said Binh Duong New City is orientated to lure intellectuals and develop technology. The city will connect with other areas, making a satellite urban chain. Once completed, the new city will be an industrial, educational and training city’, meeting environmentally friendly standards, offering the best services. According to chairman of Vietnam architects’ association Nguyen Tan Van, this is a national work and is zoned methodically. Once completed, it will be a modern urban center leading in the country and benefit the State and residents.

With experiences on infrastructure development investment, Becamex IDC has focused its sources to build the breakthrough work successfully.
